Our Proprietary Specimens
______________________________

In medical education, cadaveric specimens are precious.
Cadaver tissue is truly the only resource that allows us to practice and reproduce procedures and tests with loyalty. The precision we need to have, the countless times we need to repeat a procedure in order to be proficient, as no rubber doll can offer us the veracity that cadaveric tissue does. But like any other lifeless tissue, it will quickly deteriorate.

So we came up with a process – and a set of proprietary formulas – that help us to delay the deterioration process just enough for us to be able to take proper advantage of the donated tissue, in order to both improve the quality of the healthcare we can provide and also to honor the selfless donation we receive, when we get the gift of anatomical cryopreserved specimens and turn them into our Cephalospec.

Our Expertise
_______________

Dr Oyole, the founder of the Craniofacial RSC – has developed a process for the “Cephalus” (head + partial neck) specimens that gives it realistic features of tissue manipulation without embalming, latex or formalizing the tissue. Non toxic, serology cleared, no risks, no harm.

Our Methodology
___________________

At CRANIOFACIAL Research and Study Center, we use a rigorous and systematic approach to medical research and development. Our methodology is designed to ensure that our courses and projects are scientifically sound, ethically responsible, and most of all, safety driven for the patients. With this in mind, we’ve developed a collection of Cephalospecs that target each broad specialty areas of the Head & Neck.

DONOR TISSUE

At the CRANIOFACIAL Research and Study Center, we’re active members in
accordance with the
American Association of Tissue Banks
nd we follow all of their pertinent recommendations for safety and maintenance of tissue, while it’s under our care.
AATB is the Official, government accredited setting body that determines, regulates and supervises the safety and use of donated human tissue. The overwhelming majority of the human tissue distributed for transplant comes from AATB-accredited Tissue Banks.
AATB houses a number of councils and committees, composed by professionals of a variety of backgrounds that shape the present and future of tissue banking.
These bodies represent diverse perspectives related to tissue recovery, processing, storage, distribution, transplantation, research, and education.
Dr O, the Founder of the Craniofacial RSC, sits as an active member of the Non-Transplant Anatomical Donation Council of the AATB.

ADVANTAGES OF CADAVER TISSUE USE FOR TRAINING, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION.
________________________________________________

As we watch it on a daily basis, it is clear to us that clinical and surgical skills improve significantly in both quality and speed when medical professionals have the chance to practice more.
Cadaveric tissue provides an opportunity of intensive, repetitive and risk-less training.
The variation of samples and demographics, along the unique features of the incredibly realistic specimens we offer exclusively with our CEPHALOSPECS are a few of the advantages that medical professionals and research oriented initiatives can find at the Craniofacial RSC.

DONOR PRIVACY AND IDENTITY FEATURES
_______________________________________

Millions of people receive tissue transplants that transform their lives, with minimal risk, in a highly regulated system supported by compassionate professionals and technical experts.
Tissue transplantation would not be possible without the selfless generosity of donors and their families, who authorize the gift of donation, and for this and many other reasons, donors and their families deserve our utmost respect.
With this in mind, the Craniofacial RSC developed a series of steps during our CEPHALOSPECS preparation and preservation process, where the donor tissue is enhanced for surgical manipulation while the personal features of identity go completely concealed.
When broadcasting dissections or preparing literature content enhance videos and pictures of dissected tissue to manipulate original identification features into being altered in order to protect the identity of the donors.
Depending on the medical specialty within the Head & Neck we provide specimens for, we prep and preserve the CEPHALOSPECS accordingly, as you can see below.
